With only two years experience cutting their teeth crafting contemporary anthemic indie anthems, TRASH already sound like veterans of great pop writing. Often jingly, sharp and yet dotted with waves of lo-fi brilliance, their style leaves one wondering - if only all rubbish smelt so sweet?
Like much of the band’s output, ‘Give Up’ fuses guitars gushing with euphoria and lyrics straight from the playbook of adolescent love. Their formula is a classic one, but don’t confuse classic with old-hat. Whilst these boys are thoroughly 21st Century alt-pop - at their best moments - their young, instinctive appeal seems as old as music itself.
‘Give Up’ becomes the band’s third release on Leeds based label Clue Records (home to Allusondrugs, Forever Cult, NARCS and SUNFACE). With rave reviews for their last EP ‘Urban Glow’ (2014) & for their sets at Y Not Festival & Tramlines in 2015, TRASH toured in March with several of the dates selling out well in advance. The band are appearing on festival line ups including Live At Leeds, Tramlines, Ulltra Fest & 2Q Festival. They have received coverage from The Line Of Best Fit, Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio & have recently featured on the latest series of Made In Chelsea.
